  • Daily, weekly, and monthly data files can now be updated in real-time with timed udpates.
  • Fixed problem where "No Data" message could be returned if just one day of daily data was requested.
  • Hints added to forms where the start date for a new item added to a portfolio is entered. The hints will indicate the first date available for history data for the new item. Hold the mouse cursor over the box where the first date is entered to see the hint.
  • For weekly and monthly data, QCollector now sets the date of the last bar to the end of week date, or end of month date, as applicable. Previously these values were saved as they were sent by eSignal, which set the date of the last bar record to the current date.
  • Updated version Ascii Trial Symbols portfolio that is optionally installed for new user. Some of the previous trial symbols had gone off the market.
  • Some changes to the setup program interface.
  • QCollector configuration files and portfolio definition files are now stored in the user's local application data folder. For most users this will be "C:\Documents and Settings\{Windows user name}\Local Settings\Application Data\Tradeworks Software\QCollector Pro for eSignal" . For developers using the QCollector Data Interface note that this will also be the folder where response files are stored when they are generated by QCollector. (QCollector always includes the full path to the response files when it sends the response message in any case, so no changes should be required in the client application.)

  • Fixed problem where, when collecting 1 minute data bars for NASDAQ stocks, for regular session hours only, the first bar of the day could sometimes be missing. This problem is acknowledged by eSignal and is related to FORMT trades coming through from the exchange after the regular session opens. QCollector now handles this situation by forcing servers to send all minute bars whether FORMT trades are included or not.
  • When running timed udpates, the "Init Items" option is now recognized when the timed udpates are paused.

  • Improved identification and handling of situation where servers could sometimes stop responding to data requests, causing the data collection progress to hang or stall. QCollector will now retry items that are not responding, and if the results are not positive, an error message will be logged and the data collection will move on to the remaining items.
  • QCollector now checks the file attributes for MetaStock format master files before each udpate to be sure that the "read only" property is not set.
  • Removed "Set Item Titles To Normal Caps" command from File menu as it is no longer required.
  • Fixed bug where "Access violation" error message could sometimes appear on startup.
  • Now showing bytes downloaded in "Collection Status" window as KBytes (kilobytes).

  • Fixed problem where user entered time separator charactor was not being used for international settings.
  • Default record limit for MetaStock format data files is now 65,500. Option to continue using old limit of 32,500 records for those applications that do not recognize the new limit.
  • Fixed problem where user entered changes for MetaStock portfolio item descriptions (i.e., company names) were sometimes over-written with descriptions from the data feed.
  • Added option to start timed updates without initializing data files. Look up "timed updates" in the Help index for more information.
  • Collection status now shows bytes received rather than kilobytes received. Note that this is always the uncompressed value.
  • If the eSignal Data Manager is shut down while QCollector is running, only one message is now displayed in the event log, rather than having the event log continue to pop up with error messages.
